4月8日、ホテルオークラ東京で、2月12 日に肺炎のため82歳で亡くなったPCO最大手コングレの代表取締役会長、隈﨑守臣氏の「お別れの会」が執り行なわれ、各界からおよそ500人が参列した。
隈﨑氏は銀行での勤務を経て1990年にコングレを設立。数々の医学会や国際会議等の運営を手掛け、業界最大手に育て上げた。また、1998年にはPCOや関連企業・団体で構成する業界団体、全国コンベンション運営事業者協議会（現日本コンベンション事業協会＝CPA） の設立に尽力、初代会長に就任した。
