日本で一番有名なSFテレビアニメシリーズと言っていいでしょう。 1980年にファーストシリーズが放映されると 多くの熱狂的なフォロワーを産み その後の数々のSFアニメ作品にも 多大な影響を与えました。 この作品の特徴はそれまで子供向けだったSFアニメを 若者向け、特に中高生以上を対象にして作り込んだ所が 当時非常に斬新で、SFアニメーションという分野を切り拓いた ある意味で、金字塔的な作品と言って良いと 筆者は思います。

3. It can be called the most famous SF TV animation series in Japan. After 1st series was broadcasted in 1980, it produced many enthusiastic followers, which influenced greatly a number of SF animation thereafter.
The characteristics of this work is that although SF animation had been for children, but this work is extremely new at that time in that it was exclusively for young people, especially for older than junior and senior high school students.
In the meaing of starting a field called SF animation, author can call it epochmaking work.

It could be said as one of the most famous SF animation series in Japan. In 1980, when the first series of the animation have shown on TV, many people turned to be enthusiastic followers, and had a big impact on a lot of other animations afterward. What made this animation special and original, was that this was created for older than junior and high school student. There was no such an SF animation before, and used to be for a children. I think this is a monumental work which have added a new dimension in the field of SF animation.
