Only the normal wear spots on some of the palm keys and a few chips near the bottom bow are present. One small ding near the bottom of the bell is present but no major dents or any signs of work can be found. It is also wearing its original rollers and pads ( the old rivet style). The original case carries some history with it also. In addition to the Martin tag, it also has a tag that reads: "Rhein's" BELLEVILLE, ILL. (apparently a popular music store in the 50's). It also has its original patent stamp in good condition. This horn is a joy to play! Even with its original pads everthing is sealing allowing a whisper down to low Bb.

These Martins represent the very best of the american vintage horns in the way of pride, craftsmanship, and materials. The great Art Pepper played a Martin like this and its easy to see why. These horns had a lot of neat features such as an adjustable thumb rest. The neck screw is also located on the neck, preventing the common solder that many old horns have to go through
