彼女は魔法使いであり、紅魔館に住んでいます。
魔理沙やアリスと違い生まれながらにして魔法使いです。
精霊魔法が得意で7種類の属性魔法が使用出来ます。
彼女は、本と自分は切っても切れない関係であると考えており、本を読む以上に素晴らしいことはないと考えています。
そのことから紅魔館にある大図書館で本を読んで過ごしており、またここの図書館の管理も行なっています。

Patchou Knowledge is one of the bosses in the Touhou Koumakyou.
She is the witch and lives in Kouma castle.
Unlike Marisa and Alice, she is natural witch.
She is good at using elemental magic, and can use seven types magics.
She cannot inseparable from books, and nothing is better than reading books.
So she always spends her time in Koma castle's big library and manage this library. .

Patchouli Knowledge is a boss character of Touhou Koumakyou.
She is a wizard living in Koumakan.
Unlike Marisa and Alice, she is an inborn wizard, specialist of spiritual magics, and can use 7 elemental magics.
She is convinced that reading books is her breath of life and most important thing.
That's why she spends most of her time reading books in immense library administrated by her.

また図書館は紅魔館の住人以外も利用可能で、魔理沙やアリスもここを利用する。
紅魔館の主であるレミリアとは親友同士でお互いレミィとパチェという愛称で呼び合い、公式、同人誌両方で一緒にいることが多いです。
容姿は全身ピンクから紫色にかけた髪や服が特徴的です。
見た目は幼そうだが、100歳を超え、喘息持ちな上に紅魔館の図書館に篭っているということから、体力がなく様々な場面ですぐにへばってしまいます。
そのことから髪の色と合わせて紫もやしと呼ばれることがある（もやしは日本だとひ弱の比喩表現）

最初は本を盗みに来る邪魔な存在と思っていましたが、徐々に彼女を待つ様になっていくという展開が多いです。
また同じく図書館を管理しているKoakumaという紅魔郷の4面に出てくる中ボスもよく一緒に同人誌に出ます。
彼女はファンの間で名前を付けられたキャラクターであり、性格も同人誌によって違います。
基本的にはパチュリーに従順という性格が多いです。
