China E-Commerce Giant Alibaba Now Bigger than Baidu, Reveals New Financials

China’s biggest e-commerce company, Alibaba Group, which runs sites like Taobao and Tmall, has revealed in a filing to the US SEC (see here) that its revenue rose 64 percent from last year to $805.9 million at the end of 2012 Q1.

Alibaba Group, Reuters points out, has now moved up to be China’s second-biggest web company by revenue. It’s behind the social and gaming efforts of Tencent (HKG:0700), but now ahead of Chinese search engine Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) which has been pushed down to third-largest.

There is a matte varnish paint that can be applied to prevent shine. I typically do not use this because it can cause a bumpy texture on the skin. I could send you some of this though if you'd like to give it a try. The doll in the attached file can be made. Looks like its just a lighter cheek and nose shade that I normally do but I can do this no problem. Let me know which doll you mean is having a shiny appearance. Thanks!

Thailand’s MyColorscreen Makes Your Mobile Phone Look Gorgeous

Thailand-based startup, MyColorscreen, is a site that provides you with gorgeous-looking mobile wallpaper. It’s all user-generated and you don’t have to buy them. Users who upload them will share with the community, thereby showcasing various designs, effects, and typographic styles. Just like this one here, for example.

To date, the site has more than 19,000 wallpapers for iOS and Android phones and has about 46,000 users. It was founded by Peachanan Rojwongsuriya last year who is proud that he bootstrapped his way up, from the site’s design to coding the whole thing. Indonesian Healthcare Startup ‘Aibilities’ Has Big Ideas

One of the Jakarta Founders Institute’s graduates, Aibilities, recently just launched its new free android app called Dokita. Dokita, which stands for “dokter kita” or in English “our doctor,” provides users with first step health advice from stand-by doctors in period of 30 minutes to 1 hour on weekdays, from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.. If asked by users, the doctors can also give some recommendation on medicine or prescriptions under certain circumstances.

Josep also talked about Aibilities’ first product called Blink Control, which won the Samsung Android Mobile Apps award at Sparxup 2011. The Android app aims to help paralyzed patients to communicate through their gadgets using nothing but eye blinks as the input method for text-to-speech features.
