旧プラザボリバルは、現在大聖堂(2)と議事堂(3)の拡大、周辺に新市役所(6)政府各省庁の超高層ビル合同庁舎(8)、大統領官邸(7)の設置が予定されている。新広場は幾層かが斜面によってつながれ、歩行者専用となる。

パンジャブの新首都Chandigarhの建設は1951年に始まった。
