When things get done more quickly and more efficiently, you have time to plan new activities that will enhance the productivity of your area.
So, when you are faced with getting a job done, give your employees the chance to do it their way within the boundaries that you set for them. They will make mistakes, but that is OK. Mistakes can be fixed, and people learn a lot more when they have the chance to make mistakes that are theirs, not their boss's. Empowered people are motivated and productive people.

業務がより早く、より効率的に遂行されると、自分の仕事の生産性をより高めるような活動を計画する時間が生まれることになる。従って、任務が首尾よく完了したら、、自分の部下達にここまではやっていいと決めておいた範囲において自分達のやり方で業務を遂行するチャンスを与えてあげればよい。彼らは間違いを犯すかもしれないが、それは問題のないことだ。そんな間違いは修正可能なものだし、自分の上司のせいではない、自分自身のせいでミスを犯すようになると、人はより多くのことを学べるものなのだ。より多くの権限を与えられた者はよりモチベーションの高い、生産性の高い人間になれるのである。
