What attracted me to pay a premium price was that the camera was in mint condition and had a high serial number. I thought that by having a end of production mumber, and being in mint condition, that this would give me a camera that was lightly used and many years of trouble free service.
Instead I was sent one that was handled a lot. This is the reason I m having a problem with the sticky surface. The top layer where the fingers grip the rubber-like surface is slightly worn causing the stickiness.
Cleaning the grip surface many times, with 90% isopropyl alcohol has only made a slight improvement. (By the way, ethanol alcohol that you suggested reacts with some plastic surfaces and shouldn t be used.)
