何故か？言語はとても感情的．感情と言語が一致しないと覚えにくい
thank youと思ってないのに，先生からこの表現を学んでも無駄
我々は君たちが10年かかって学んできたことを僅か半年で達成する必要がある
悠長に毎日先生や教科書の言われるがままにつまらない話題で会話をしている余裕はない

僕たちはどうやって言語を習得したか．
毎日同じ言語を聞き，読み，話し，書く
実践すればOK？
日本にいる限り無理．

Probably the methods above are extremely vague in either way. English ability would improve, but it does not improve so dramatically.
Why is that? Because language is very emotional. It is hard for you to memorize it unless the emotion and the language match.
Although you do not think that you really "thank you" it is of no use to learn this expression "thank you" from your teacher.
