You lack basic knowledge of English grammar despite your career as a teacher of English.
1. The verb "avoid" cannot have the infinitive for the object; any verb coming after it should be the gerund.
2. Please do not be confused with the different usage of "to deal with" and "to handle". There is no usage of "to handle with something".
