「お盆」が仏教と関係があるのか、正直よくわかってません。
正確な由来は知らないのですが、8月13日から16日の間に、故人の霊が帰ってくるという風習になっています。
今年は、妻の父が亡くなったので、いわゆる初盆と言い、近所の人たちが入れ替わり立ち替わり、線香を上げに来てくれます。
その対応の為に、仕事は夏期休暇を取得しました。
あなたの国でも夏の風習が何かありますか？
重ねて、日本は8月15日が終戦記念日なので、正午には黙祷をし、テレビでは戦争に関する特番が放送されます。

As a matter of fact, nobody knows if "Obon" has to do with Buddhism.
The accurate origin is not known, but the custom is that the soul of the deceased comes back from August 13th to 16th.
As the father of my wife passed away this year, my neighborhood comes to my house one after another in order to pray for his soul, offering an incense stick, which is so called Hatsu-Bon.
I actually took my summer holidays in order to cope with them.
Do you have any summer custom in your country, either?
Also, August 15th is the anniversary commemorating the end of the war in Japan, we observe a moment of silence at noon, and dome special program regarding war will be broadcast on TV today.
