月に刻まれている無数のクレーターを繊細に表現することがこの製品化プロジェクトのチャレンジです。ところで、月にはなぜあのような多数のクレーターが刻まれているのでしょうか。

そもそも地球に対してもたくさんの隕石が落ちてきています。地球は月よりも大きく重力も強いため、なおさらです。しかし、大気があるためそのほとんどは大気中で燃え尽きてしまうのです。

これに対して、月には空気がないので、毎日降りそそぐ隕石が月に激突し、それがクレーターとして何百年も残ることになるのです。

Whereas you have no atmsphere on the moon, meteorites falling on the moon everyday collide with the moon surface making craters that remains there for hundreds of years.
