The not-so-good: different approach to programming

However, founders should know that it is not all rainbows and roses. When Justin Lee, VP of engineering at Spoonrocket, arrived in Taiwan with the intention to build up an engineering team two years ago, he found most programmers had backgrounds in lower-level languages such as C and C++ but knew very little about application development due to the island’s overwhelming focus on hardware.

“It took longer than I expected to find people who suited our needs technically and were also eager to work for a startup,” he said.
