In 2013, The Wall Street Journal cited Hanoi-based startup incubator Topica that said “only Singapore has a better record [than Vietnam] of tech entrepreneurs starting companies and then successfully selling stakes to outside investors”. It was also a boost that the population of ultra-high net worth individuals in Vietnam increased by 14.7 per cent in the same year.
