開発者、A.J は、既存の爪切りに対し強い不満を持っていました。
既存の爪切りは利き手でない場合にとても使い辛く、レバーから指が滑ることがある為です。
手の小さな子供にも、既存の爪切りは決して使い易いとは言えません。
又、切った爪が飛び散ったり、安価な爪切りは切れ味が悪い事も問題でした。
切れ味については、日本製の素晴らしい爪切りが多数存在しますが、デザインは何十年もの間、殆ど進化が見られません。　爪切りは誰でも必ず使う製品でありながら、デザインは殆ど進化していないのが実情です。
