"Anda" is very formal, but I don't know the context here. And the english says "malay" ? Mistype I suppose.

Definitely a mistype. No such place as Malay, only Malaysia. Malay is a language, an ethnicity, a culture, but never a place. Anda is generally accepted, and can be used in formal and informal situations. The lack of contextual info can be misleading, kamu is suitable as well, so it's down to preference.
