Dialoguing with Paul Klee

I have always been struck by the incredible variety of the graphic designs Bruno Munari donated to the CSAC and the remarkable way they use signs and symbols to touch on unusual,often profoundly innovative forms of communication. As readers flick back through these pages I would like them to reflect on the types of graphic writing Munari uses,regardless of the propose of the writing itself. I would like to make something clear right away: Munari experiments freely with his own writing styles in all kinds of realms, so he does not use them as specific solutions but as a range of solutions, regardless of their intended function.

ブルーノムナーリがCSACに寄贈した様々なグラフィックデザインや、サインやシンボルを使った非日常的で時には斬新なコミュニケーションを作り出す素晴らしい手法にはいつも感嘆する。読みながらページをめくっていると、書かれてある内容よりもムナーリが使ったグラフィックデザインを反映してくれないかと思う。私は何かをすぐクリアにしたいと思う。ムナーリはあらゆる領域で独自のライティングスタイルを自由に試しており、特定の手法に限らず、どんな場面でも色んな手法で対応することができるのだ。
