「一緒にお留守番ができるワンちゃんがいたらいいな。ひとりは寂しいしつまらない。他の動物より僕ぐらいのサイズの犬がいい。」（メスよりはオスの方がいい、という感じも受け取りました。）

I felt as if he says, “I wanna stay at home to look after the house with another puppy-dog, because it's lonely and boring to be alone. I'd rather like the dog similar to my size than another animal.”(I also felt he'd rather like a female than a male.)
