Why hurry? If poor people have survived without Grameen for all these centuries, they can survive without us for many years to come. Our objective is to develop a system that works, not to rush out a service at breakneck speed. Grameen is a self-help organization. We only want to liberate the genius of individuals to create a better life for themselves. We are not an organization bent on forcing anyone to do anything they do not want.

なぜ急ぐのでしょう？貧しい人たちがグラミン銀行なしで何世紀も生き延びてきたとすれば、この先ずっとグラミンなしで生き延びるかもしれません。グラミンの目的は機能するシステムを作り出すことで、猛スピードでサービスを展開することではありません。グラミンは自助組織です。個々の才能を自由に使い、自分自身でより良い生活を作る出すことを望むだけです。望まないことを強制的に行わせることに傾注する組織ではありません。
