Why hurry? If poor people have survived without Grameen for all these centuries, they can survive without us for many years to come. Our objective is to develop a system that works, not to rush out a service at breakneck speed. Grameen is a self-help organization. We only want to liberate the genius of individuals to create a better life for themselves. We are not an organization bent on forcing anyone to do anything they do not want.

焦る必要は全くないのです。それは、貧しい人達がグラミン銀行に頼らずこれまで暮らして来れたのであれば、彼らはこれからもずっと私達なしでやっていけるからです。私達の目的は機能するシステムをつくることで、無謀に焦ってサービスを提供することではありません。グラミン銀行は自助組織です。私達が望んでいるのは、人が自分自身のためによりよい生活を送れるように、個々人の特性が解き放されることなのです。私達は人がやりたくないことを強いるような組織ではないのです。
