日本独特の課題として浴槽溺れがあります。災害時に水を確保するため浴槽に水をためることが推奨されていますが、乳幼児のいる家庭では浴室のドアに鍵をかける対策が必要です。また、「釜石の奇跡」と言われる防災教育からは、子ども自身が身を守る教育の必要性を痛感しました。５才以上の子どもには、自ら身を守る対策の指導が重要であると考えています。
最後に、SAFE KIDS JAPANの復活を願い、Safey Kids いずみも、その復活と実践に関わりたいと希望しています。

Bathtub drowning is an accident peculiar to Japan. Saving water in the tub is recommended to ensure water in case of natural disasters but, the bathroom door needs to be locked if there is an infant or toddler in your family. I realized that children need to learn how to protect themselves from the disaster, based on the disaster prevention education called, “the miracle of the Kamaishi.” I believe it is important to train children at the age of 5 or above, how to protect yourself. In conclusion, Safety Kids Izumi would also like to take part in the act and hope to see the resurgence of SAFE KIDS JAPAN.
