Even though the GDP for Japan has been stagnant over the last 10 years, the internet industry has been growing at an astounding rate of 15% yearly, with a huge growth driven by mobile. This also applies to the Southeast Asia market where growth in the mobile space entices cash rich Japanese to come here to look for opportunities.
