What I like most is its location feature. A user can pull out his phone and view information relating to your curent area. For example, if you’re at Tokyo Tower, Goocus will point you to the page describing Tokyo Tower.

The service is pretty simple. And while it’s not the first service to put Wikipedia information on a map, it’s still undeniably useful – especially with the social element thrown in. Satoshi Yamawaki, founder of Castalia, said that the app is now only for Wikipedia, but he does have plans to add other content in the near future.

一番いいと思ったは、位置情報機能だ。現在地に関連した情報を携帯電話で見ることができる。例えば、東京タワーにいれば、Goocus が東京タワーについて説明するページを表示してくれる。

このサービスはとてもシンプルだ。「Goocus」は、地図上にウィキペディアの情報を表示する最初のサービスではないが、役に立つことは間違いない。ソーシャル機能がついているから特にそうだ。キャスタリアの創設者、山脇智志氏によると、今はウィキペディアだけだが、近い将来、その他のコンテンツも加える計画があるとのこと。
