Salivary scintigraphy which is representative of those that uses Tc, gathers mainly at the parotid gland and submandibular gland and is excreted. It becomes the indicator of salivary gland function that matches the secretion stimulus through citric acid loading, and among mild chronic diseases, it is used in sialadenitis, glossopharyngeal nerve paralysis, and other radiation diseases. Even in neoplastic pathological changes, it is effective in the differentiation of Walthin's with other tumors. Also, FDG-PET, by using SUV which is a semiquantitative value as the approximation of FDG accumulation, becomes essential even in the examination of local pathological changes, disease stage, treatment and cure evaluation of salivary gland tumors, and must be present in today's nuclear medicine image examinations.
