日本では1960年代に始まった本格的なパブリックアートの文化は今日に至るまで続いており、数え切れない程の作品が街中に置かれるようになりました。今日では、おそらく日本全国に数十万点以上の作品が存在するでしょう。
しかし、それらの多くは芸術的価値に関わらず、街を歩く人々に殆ど見向きもされず素通りされている状態です。
今回は、そのように存在意義がいまいち不明瞭である、パブリックアートというものを取り上げてみました。
下記の５エリアに点在する彫刻を合計１００点紹介します。
Professional public art which started in 1960's in Japan has continued to date, now there are countless works placed in various places. Probably in Japan over hundred thousands of works exist all over Japan.
However, regardless of their artistic values that many of them possess, people who walk in towns just pass by them hardly looking at them. This time we have featured public art, which meaning of existence is little ambiguous.
Hereby we introduce total of 100 sculptures located in the following 5 areas.
