USPSには返送された事が間違い無いか問い合わせて頂けましたか?
通常であれば商品の保管期限は1ヶ月程度です
もしまだであれば、お近くの郵便局か下記のUSPSコールセンターに問い合わせてみて下さい
商品に不具合があったとの事で大変申し訳ありませんでした
商品を見てみないと原因は分からないがおそらく商品の初期不良かと思います
私はその商品をメーカーに返品したいと考えています

I am terribly sorry the product didn't reached to you due to the mistakes of USPS. Did you contact USPS if it was sure that the product was returned to USPS? Normally the period of keeping items is for about a month. If you didn't yet, please contact post offices nearby you or USPS costumer service.
I terribly apologize for the defect of the product. I can't identify the cause unless checking it but probably it is an initial failure. I'm considering to return the product to the manufacturer.

I am very sorry, but your product was not delivered because of the mistake of USPS. Could you ask whether the item was return to USPS surely?
Usually the deadline of storage for products is for about a month.
If you do not finish it, please ask a nearby post office or below USPS call center.
My sincere apologies for fault for the item.
Although there is not clear the cause of it without confirming, I think the product was defective at the beginning probably.
I am going to return the product to the maker.
