It is certain that there are many Japanese including students waiting for the translated book to be published. However, it is unlikely that the book translated by him will be published from Japanese bookmaker and it wouldn't sell even if it gets published. I believe Ms A is able to translate the original with deep understanding for the content considering that she studied Thai culture under an ethnological study professor and is around the same age of the author of the original book.
The original book is very good, but it's regretful that the translation does not explains special terms well, and readers cannot have clear understanding as a result. I think it should be translated from female perspective and with women's language by somebody who knows the customs. Also, the translator must have an ability to write good Japanese sentences that can be easily understood by Japanese people of various ages.
It's true that a lot of people including students are waiting for a translation, but I don't think Japanese publishers do not want to publish his translation, and I don't think it will sell well if it's published.
I think Ms. A can understand the author's ideas better and she will translate well because she has studied about Thai under a folklore professor and she's also in the same generation with the author.
It is regret that there are few discription of professional language in such a nice book and leave readers with questions.
From the woman's point of view, it is expected to be translated by the one who understand custom. And it it necessary for the translator owning the capacity of making flexible use of Japanese to convey to all generations.
Large amounts, led by students are waiting for the translate is reality, however, his translation is difficult to published in Japan, and although it could be, it might be unsalable.
A has learnt about Tailand with Professor of Folklore and of the same generation of writer, so I think he/she could translate with considering the mind of author.
