その岩盤の大きさが千尋、すなわち千人の人間が手を結んだくらい大きいという例えから名付けられました。
滝の南側の高台が展望台になっているので、車で訪れてその雄大な景色を簡単に楽しむことが出来ます。
展望所は標高270メートル。
滝の反対側には原集落と太平洋が一望できます。
そちらも要チェック。
世界遺産の西部林道を歩く
西部林道は屋久島で唯一、海岸線から世界自然遺産に指定されている地域です。
