税関の検査で荷物を開けられることもあるし、開けられていないこともあります。財布を送るときに使う程度の小さい荷物は開けられないことが多いけど、大きい荷物はほとんど開けられます。開けられても中古品だと関税がかからないことがほとんどです。新品であれば、ほとんどの荷物が送付状にかかれているトータルバリューをもとに関税が計算されます。革のバッグの場合、消費税の５％と、8％～14％の関税が両方かけられます。

A parcel may or may not be opened at the Custom. Generally speaking, a small parcel, like the box that contains a wallet, is not caught but a larger box will be most likely opened. However if its content is second hand product, it is usually exempted from customs duties. If it is a brand new product, then the duties apply according to the total value written on the covering letter. In case of a leather bag, both 5% VAT and 8-14% duties apply.

The packages sometimes were opened or sometimes not at the custom inspection. The small packages, like the size of wallet, tend not to be opened, but the larger size packages are usually opened at the custom inspection. Even if it’s opened, the custom fee will not be charged for the used items in most cases. However, if the items are new, the custom duty will be calculated and charged for the most packages based on the total value of the packaging list. For example, in case of leather bag, sales tax of 5% and custom duty of 8 – 14% will be charged.

Packages may be open to inspect at customs and may not be opened. Small packages like to send wallet are not opened mostly but big packages will be opened most of the time. If the items are used, they don't impose custom duties most of the time. If the items are brand-new, most packages are calculated duties based on total value on covering. For leather bag, both of 5% consumption tax and 8% to 14% customs duties will be imposed.
