税関の検査で荷物を開けられることもあるし、開けられていないこともあります。財布を送るときに使う程度の小さい荷物は開けられないことが多いけど、大きい荷物はほとんど開けられます。開けられても中古品だと関税がかからないことがほとんどです。新品であれば、ほとんどの荷物が送付状にかかれているトータルバリューをもとに関税が計算されます。革のバッグの場合、消費税の５％と、8％～14％の関税が両方かけられます。
A parcel may or may not be opened at the Custom. Generally speaking, a small parcel, like the box that contains a wallet, is not caught but a larger box will be most likely opened. However if its content is second hand product, it is usually exempted from customs duties. If it is a brand new product, then the duties apply according to the total value written on the covering letter. In case of a leather bag, both 5% VAT and 8-14% duties apply.
