"Over the last decade the increase in terrorism has been linked to radical Islamic groups whose violent theologies have been broadly taught. To counteract these influences, moderate forms of Sunni theologies need to be championed by Sunni Muslim nations," he said.

The three main factors associated with terrorism, according to the report, are state-sponsored violence such as extra-judicial killings, group grievances and high levels of criminality.

Deaths due to terrorism rose from 11,133 in 2012 to 17,958 in 2013, according to the Global Terrorism Index produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace, a think tank based in Australia.

Japan recently hit a demographics milestone—one-fourth of its 127 million people is now 65 years or older—while its overall population declined for the third consecutive year.

For the first time ever, the elderly make up a quarter of Japan’s population, increasing by 1.1 million to a record 31.9 million as of last October 1, government data released on Tuesday showed.

Meanwhile, the total population dropped by 0.17 percent to 127,298,000, the data said. The figure includes long-staying foreigners.

With the country’s low birthrate and long life expectancy, the government is now facing an the grim prospects of an ever-dwindling labor force supporting Japan’s rapidly graying population.

Certainly, indie filmmakers like Ramin Niami will. Though "Shirin in Love" isn't likely to duplicate the flukish success of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," the most successful indie rom-com of all time, it ventures into the Hollywood vacuum with a similar blend of ethnic specificity and classic romantic comedy narrative strategies.

The worst thing about "Walking with Dinosaurs" is that even though it has been handled about as badly as can be for reasons that I cannot begin to fathom, it will most likely do well at the box office during the holiday season because of the near-universal hold that dinosaurs have on the imaginations of the children who make up the majority of its target audience. Little kids will probably like it because it is bright and colorful (though far less so if you partake in the 3-D version) and simple to grasp but let's face it, one could say pretty much the exact same thing about the likes of "The Smurfs 2."
