It’s probably because the procedure is just taking time, but could you contact to the custom and confirm whether you can receive the product? 先ず第1には、NECに対する営業活動です。

最初に、NECにおけるIBMの継続的な利用とNECグループ企業への拡大に対する貢献を説明します。
・今年に入り、NEC持株会社のCFO、NECキャピタルのCEOに対し、SAPに買収された後のIBMの日本の体制を説明し、今後とも安定的にERPサービスを提供できることを説明しました。この結果、3人からは、IBMの継続的な利用をする了解を得ました。

I would like to briefly explain the results in the first quarter of 2018 in responding to Tom’s question.

First, the sales activities to NEC.

First, let me explain our continued use of IBM system in NEC and commitments for expanding NEC group company.
・We described the structure of IBM Japan after acquired by SAP to CFO from NEC Holding company and CEO of NEC Capital in this year and told them that we could continue to provide a stable ERP services. In the result, We gained a permission from them that we keep using IBM system.

・一方、日本のERPの市場に大きな変化が見られます。
BASF社のプロダクトは、従来、CAP社と言う日本の会計システム会社の一事業部が小規模に販売していました。
しかし、今年から、FINCOと言う会社を設立し、BASF社のプロダクトを日本語化し、導入及び保守サービスを提供して、強力に日本市場の開拓を目指していると言う事です。これは、私の友人の金融関係者が極秘に教えてくれた情報です。なお、A社のNECに対する営業攻勢は幸いこの第一4半期はなかったと、NECの担当者から聞きました。

・On the other hand, a major change has been seen in Japanese ERP market.
The products of BASF company has conventionally been sold in a small scale by a division of one of accounting system companies in Japan called CAP.
However, they will establish a company called FINCO, translate the product of BASF company into Japanese , provide introduction and conservation services and aim at strongly developing Japanese market. This is what I heard privately from one of my friends who works in a finance company. Additionally, a person in charge of this matter in NEC told me that fortunately, A company didn’t act on offensive sales to NEC in the first quarter.

しかし、A社の営業攻勢は、今後ともさらに強力に続くと思われます。
私は、IBMの継続的な利用をNEC関係者に粘り強く説得していくつもりです。
何れにしろ、BASF社およびA社の活動を見ると、日本におけるERP市場は、次第に活発化していくものと考えられます。

次に、Global展開の推進と拡大について説明します。
・今年の1月に開催されたNEC Global Meeting において、私は、参加者にIBM/ERPのGlobal展開の有効性を説明し、その推進を図りました。

I will tenaciously convince those in charge in NEC of continued use of IBM system.
In any case, when I look at activities of BASF comoany and A company, I believe ERP market in Japan will be gradually developing.

Second, I would like to tell you about promoting and expanding of Global development.
・On the NEC Global Meeting in January, I explained the efficiency of globally developing IBM/ERP to the participants and tried promoting IBM/ERP.

・特に、NECキャピタルとその海外子会社のCFOに対して、個別にIBMの利用拡大をするように促しました。これら2社のCFOは、熱心に私の話を聞いてくれました。私は、今後、その具体化に向けてさらに働きかけていくつもりです。

今年2018年は、NECの財務部門に大きな変化の年になります。
これは、NEのC幹部や財務関係者の大幅な人事異動がある事と、新たなGlobal財務戦略の実行が予定されているからです。このため、IBMの利用を継続させるため、新たな関係の構築が課題となっています。

Especially, I asked CFOs from NEC Capital and it’s subsidiary oversea to facilitate using IBM system in each company and they was carefully listening to me. I will keep taking active steps to embody the idea.

2018 will be the year that a major change can be seen in Finance Devision of NEC.
This is because of a major personnel transfer in NEC executives and finance workers and a new Global fibancial strategy carrying out. Therefore, newly establishing relationship is a key problem right now so that we can continue to use IBM system.

・私は、2月にはNECのCEOやCFOと会食し、また、3月にはNECキャピタルのCEOとゴルフをしました。5月14日には、NECグループのERP関係者を集めての会議を、私が開催する予定です。こうした機会を利用して、NECの財務部門の重要な情報を確保し、NECグループとの新たな信頼関係の構築と強化を実施しています。

次に、IBMの日本市場の開拓については、IBM Japanの下田さんが退職したことから、日本での具体的な営業の展開が難しい状況になっています。

・We had a dinner with CEO and CFO of NEC in February and played golf with CEO from NEC Capital in March. I am planning to hold a meeting with those involved with ERP in NEC group. As I take advantage of these opportunities, I will gain important information of NEC Finance Department and try to build and enhance a new relationship with NEC group.

Next, regarding breaking Japanese market of IBM, developing specific sales in Japan has been difficult since Simoda-San retired from IBM Japan.

私は、日本企業のグローバル化が進展する中で、ERPに対する需要は拡大するものと考えています。私は、IBMが日本における営業体制を整え、日本市場の開拓に積極的に取り組むことを期待しています。その場合には、私は、NECグループのみならず、他の一般企業に対する販売活動に出来るだけの協力をしたいと思います。私の強みは、CFOとしての豊かな経験と沢山の金融関係者との親密な関係です。特に、NEC との関係を活用して、日本市場におけるIBMユーザの開拓を進めることが出来ると考えています。

As globalization of Japanese corporation groups has been increasing, I believe that the demand for ERP is going to get stronger. I hope that IBM will organize the sales structure in Japan and actively break Japanese market. In that case, I will support sales activities toward not only NEC group but other general companies as much as possible. I recognize a wealth of experiences as CFO and close relationships with those who work in finance as my strengths and especially, with taking advantage of relationship to NEC, I could contribute to discover IBM users in Japanese market.

I have heard from Sam and what is going on with recruitment of new employees?

I am recently looking for what we should do to continue the operation of IBM in accordance to the revision of Banking Act. We already cundicted hearings with those who work at a major bank in Japan and we are finally going to talk directly with the executives in Financial Ministry. 押出機の加熱時、冷却時はAのサイドにある固定用ボルトを緩めてAがフリーで動くようにして使用します。
左右の固定用ボルトを完全に締めると前後の移動もできなくなるようです。
Aが押出機の熱膨張、熱収縮に対応するためであれば、前後左右に動いても問題無いと考えております。

我々はバンドルの状態で熱処理をし、殆どの樹脂をそこで処理します。そこから、エレメントと各部品に分解して、個別に熱処理を行います。勘違いさせて申し訳ございませんが、我々もエレメントから洗浄するわけではありません。

When heating up or cooling off a extrusion machine, screw the fixing bolts which is on both side of A and use the machine when A can be moving freely.
It seems that if the fixing bolts which is on both left and right side are completely tighted up, A would no be able to move back and forth.
I believe there is no problem if A moves back and forth, and left and right, in order for A to bundle a thermal expansion or thermal shrink of a extrusion machine.

We process heat in a condition of a bundle and treat most resins there. Afterward we divide them into element or each component and conduct a heat treatment separately. I am sorry to confuse you but that doesn’t mean we wash elements first.

先日ポット栽培の開発に協力してくれる企業の所長が現地調査に来ました。所長の意見は現在の状態で成功させるのはかなり難しいとのこと。でも成功させるために何をすれば良いのかしっかりアドバイスをもらいました。今年の栽培中に間に合うかわからないけど新しい苗を育てることになりました。できることを精一杯やろう！所長が帰った後ポット栽培の苗を見てみるとなんと大きないちごがなっていました。このサイズはポット栽培成功の最低基準を超えています。所長は難しいと言っていたけど、もしかしたらいけるかも！

The other day, the president of a company which cooperates with development of Pot Culturation, came for a in-site investigation. According to his opinion, it is extremely difficult to make it successful in this situation. However, he gave us advise on what to do to make it. We have decided to raise new seedlings, we are not sure if they are grown enough until a harvest time though. “Let’s do our best to do what we can do.” When we took a look at the seedlings we are growing after the president left, we couldn’t believe it but there was a big strawberry!
