The Starbuck's sakura macaroon is made in the motif of this sakura rice cake. This is a traditional Japanese sweet.
What covers the rice cake made from pink-colored mochi rice (sticky kind of rice), is a pickled leaf of cherry blossoms.

To faithfully reproduce the taste of sakura rice cake, pickled leaves of cherry blossom is actually kneaded into the macaroons. Therefore, they are slightly salty.
The store is sakura everywhere!
