For comparison, Japan’s gaming industry grew only 1.2 percent last fiscal year. The total Japanese market is worth $4.6 billion. Whereas South Korea’s gaming market grew by 10.8 percent. As it stands, Japan’s gaming market is facing a number of issues. Major companies like GREE, DeNA and even Sony and Nintendo are suffering from slowing growth.

比較して、日本のゲーム業界は前会計年度において1.2%しか伸びていない。日本のゲーム市場の総額は46億米ドルの価値である。それに対して、韓国のゲーム市場は10.8%の伸びとなっている。現状では、日本のゲーム市場は多くの問題に直面している。グリー（GREE）、ディー･エヌ･エー、さらにソニーや任天堂のような大手企業までもが成長の鈍化に悩まされているのだ。

As the numbers above indicate, online gaming seems to be the clear future for South Korea, especially mobile companies like Kakao which are at the forefront of pushing mobile gaming in South Korea. With last year’s $45 million in revenue, Kakao seems to be leading the charge in South Korea’s mobile gaming market as a messaging platform. And since Android is huge in Korea, the Google Play store has also become a big marketplace for mobiles games to seek for downloads and ARPU.

Tororo’s traction has been pretty decent so far, especially for a founder who is running two companies at the same time. In eight months, Ken said that his new baby e-commerce startup is currently seeing around 50,000 unique visitors and generating over $200,000 in transaction value each month. Tororo is also used by local Indonesian celebrities like Dian Sastro and Nia Ramadhani.

In the Indonesian baby e-commerce space, Tororo faces competition from Bilna.com, a local baby e-commerce startup that received seed funding in November last year.

Lee gave the following statement about the funding:

iMoney is growing at double digits month-on-month, and while we’re already the largest financial comparison business in the region, we want to further accelerate this. This round of funding will allow us to continue to invest in user acquisition and to strengthen our operational teams on the ground, with the aim of bringing iMoney to the next level.

Lee added that the primary reason for iMoney’s success is due to the sheer volume of business iMoney already referns to financial institutions, which currently stands close to $70 million a month.
