Hot Springs in Japan

The Japanese are known to have the world's longest life span of 82.3 years old. One of the reasons is that, many Japanese people relax in a Japanese ‘onsen’ (hot spring), and the Japanese culture and the diet attribute to this longevity. ‘Onsen’ has three therapeutic values: relaxation, treatment, and recovery.

‘Onsen’ is a place for relaxation of the mind and body. Depending upon the mineral contents in the water, you will experience positive remedies for backaches, heart disease, pulmonary conditions, lack of appetite, and other illnesses or symptoms.
Furthermore, in Japan, there are many services such as acupressure, massages, and podiatric massages on the soles of your feet. These types of effective treatments are readily available at most hotels and onsen ryokan (Japanese style inns) and are very popular among the Japanese.

温泉は心と体の癒しの場です。温泉の成分にもよりますが、背中の痛み、心臓病、肺疾患、食欲不振、その他の病気や症状に効果を実感することでしょう。

The god of the sea, Poseidon, fell in love wit her , and to protect her he cut three circular channels of water around the mountain , making it impossible to reach. The family had many children, and the population of Atlantis grew rapidly. Bridges were constructed, and the palace was enlarged and decorated with gold and silver. The kingdom became more and more prosperous and powerful. It began to take control of nearby parts of Africa and Europe.

海の神、ポセイドンは彼女と恋に落ちた。そして彼女を守るため、山の周りの３つの円形流水路を切断し、到着できないようにした。家族には子供が多く、アトランティスの人口は急激に増加した。橋が建築され、宮殿は拡大され、金銀で装飾された。王朝はますます繁栄し、強力になった。そしてアフリカやヨーロッパの一部の近隣を統治し始めるまでになった。

There are many stories and legends about lost civilezations, and among the most famous must be those about the long-lost kingdom of Atlantis. The West came to know of Atlantis through the Ancient Greek writer Plato. According to the story, the civilization of Atlantis began on a large island, some 550 kilometers long by 360 kilometers wide.　A mountain rose there, sloping down evenly in all directions. On top of the mountain, in a palace, lived a family with a beautiful daughter called Cleito.

失われた文明には様々な逸話や伝説があるものだ。中でも最も有名なものはずっと前に失われたアトランティス王朝に関するものだ。西洋は古代ギリシャの作家のプラトンによって、アトランティスを知ることになった。プラトンの話によると、アトランティス文明は縦５５０キロメートル、横３６０キロメートルほどの大きな島で始まった。山がそびえ立ち、全ての方角に均等な斜面になっていた。その山の頂上には王宮があり、クレイトと呼ばれる美しい娘のいある家族が住んでいた。

Did Atlantis really exist? If so, where is it ? Or was the whole story just made up as a moral lesson to other peoples not to become too arrogant? Unless an underwater civilization is found one day, with ruined buildings and of matching size, or some other proof is found, these questions cannot be answered conclusively. But as long as they remain unanswered more theories will be added to the thousands already proposed, because perhaps something deep in the human spirit wants Atlantis to be true.

アトランティスは本当に存在したのか？もしそうであれば、どこにあったのか。もしくは、全ては、尊大になるなという道徳教育のための作り話なのか。崩壊した建物から成る相応の規模の水中文明が発見されない限り、もしくは他の証拠が見つからない限り、これらの疑問に決定的な答えはない。しかし、答えがない限り、既にある何千もの説に新しい説が加えられるだろう。なぜなら、人間の精神の深い部分が実在のアトランティスを渇望しているからだ。

Then, after Europeans found the Americas, the "New World", some people began to wonder if these newly discovered lands could have been the lost kingdom.The legend grew in popularity. Atlantis has been suggested as somewhere in Africa, Europe, even Russia, as well as possibly being in America.Until now over 20,000 books have been published about this land.
