袋の中には、伊勢神宮のお札と奉納金の受領や食費を記したメモと旅費の残りが入っていました。

「白」は町の評判になり皆から可愛がられますが、3年後に死んでしまいました。1804年~1831年頃の出来事です。

こうした話は全国に他にも残されておりまり、当時、街道沿いの人たちも主人に代わってお参りする犬たちを気遣い、
水を与えて休ませてあげたり、旅費の小銭が多くなっていたら両替して袋を軽くしてあげたり、
次の宿宛に手紙をつけた奉行もいたという微笑ましいエピエードが残されています。

Shiro was loved by the people of the town but the dog was died 3 years later.
The story was from the year of 1804 to 1831.
There is a similar stories around Japan, those days, the people along the street took care of dog to pray in stead of their master. There was many humorous episodes of letting dogs rest, fed water, if small changes became heavy to carry, the people made change small money to lighter or there were magistrates to put dogs the letter to the next inn.
