第1回グッドデザイン賞受賞カメラでありながら、当時のキヤノンの頻繁なモデルチェンジによって僅か7,000台しか製造されておらず、そのうちオリジナルブラックペイントモデルは実に200台以下という総生産数です。これはライカM3オリジナルブラックペイントよりも絶対数が少ないことを意味しているわけで、どこのカメラ店に行ってもまず見ないです。
L1ブラックペイントモデルは一説によると報道関係などのプロ用で、工場受注生産だったそうです。

It is a camera that even won the first good design award yet was produced only 7,000 pieces due to the frequent model change by Canon those days and the original black paint models out of them were actually less than 200 pieces in total. This means these are definitely less numbers being produced than M3 original black paint that we rarely see them at any camera shops.
They say L1 black paint models are for professional uses such as news reports and were factory order productions.

I will publish several pictures taken by this camera as samples.
