CHAPTER 47-1
How do bosses react when employees present lots of new ideas about how things can be done or new things to try? Some bosses are threatened, others are afraid of change, and still others don't want to change the function of a job that they once held.
If you are truly going to develop employees, they must feel that they have some power over the way things get done. A boss who stonewalls good, innovative ideas rein-forces employees' restraint of productive ideas and their powerlessness over work life. Employees are discouraged from becoming invested in the jobs that they have to accomplish.

社員が物事をどうすべきか、新しい事をすべきなどと新しいアイデアをたくさん出してきたら上司はどんな反応をするだろうか?上司は脅威と感じたり、あるいは変化を嫌ったり、決めた仕事のやり方を変えたくないと思うだろう。
あなたが本当に社員を育てるつもりがあるならば、社員は物事のやりかたについて、有る程度は権限を与えてほしいと感じなくてはならない。
良い事や革新的アイデアを妨害する上司は、社員が生産的アイデアを出すのを制限を強めたり、業務上の権限を無くす事をしてしまう。
社員は、自分がやらなくてはならない仕事に興味もなくなり、やる気が無くなってしまう。
