6.3 China – Niue Relationship
On 18 October 2008, Zhang Limin, China's first ambassador to Niue, presented his credentials to Niue Prime Minister Toke Talagi in the capital of Alofi. His credentials were accepted by the Niuean Premier. Mr. Zhang is also China's ambassador to New Zealand where he is based. China's opening of diplomatic relations with Niue may be seen within the wider context of China's relations with the Pacific region. Every independent country in Oceania currently maintains diplomatic and economic relations either with the People's Republic of China or with the Republic of China (Taiwan).

2008年の10月18日に、中国の初大使となるチャン・リミン氏が首都のアロフィで、ニウエのトケ・タランギ首相に信任状を呈した。チャン氏の信任状は首相に受理された。チャン氏は駐ニュージーランド大使でもあり、そこに駐在している。中国のニウエとの外交関係の樹立は、中国の太平洋地域との関係というより大きな文脈の中で理解できるかもしれない。オセアニアの全ての独立国は現在、中華人民共和国もしくは中華民国（台湾）と、外交及び経済関係を結んでいる。
