Singapore is small. And sometimes for entrepreneurs, if you don’t make an effort to speak to people outside out of this little island, it can result in a somewhat limited mindset. At last weekend’s tech event in Fukuoka, Japan, I was fortunate enough to meet up with two Singapore-based start-ups which had taken branched outward, taking the opportunity to pitch their companies to a group of Japanese geeks, media people, and investors.

Rick Tan from Innova Technologies is building an ‘anti-lost’ device, while George Chen and Bryan Chia from Sageby are building an application that helps users monetize their idle time.
