What is intelligence, anyway? When I was in the army I received a kind of aptitude test that all soldiers took and, against an average of 100, scored 160. No one at the base had ever seen a figure like that and for two hours my achievement created a lot of interest. ( It didn't mean anything. The next day I was still in the lowest rank with a lowly job in the kitchen to show for my efforts.)

知能とは一体何なのか？私が陸軍に属していた時、兵士達の為にあった才能テストを受けることがあり、１００点が平均であったそのテストで１６０のスコアを出しました。基地の誰もそのような数値を見たことが無く、その後２時間程、私の成績を人々が興味を示していました。（そのテストに別に意味などなかったのです。次の日には私は一番下のランクでキッチンでの仕事に戻っていました）
