計測器管理とは、計測器の精度を維持するために作業者自身が定期的に検査（校正という）を行わなければならない。
測定のバラツキの要因は、３Ｍ（Man：作業者、 Machine：計測器、 Method：測定方法）と１E（Environment:作業環境）が支配的である。

その理由は？
測定のバラツキによって良品を不良品と誤判定したときは、お客様への迷惑となり、不良品を良品と判定した時は、会社の利益損失となる。
Ｏリングにゴミが付着するとガス洩れになる。
不良品を受け取ったお客様が一番困る。
