競争商品がある場合は、品質の良し悪しは競争商品との比較により相対的に定められる。等々の難しさがある。
IS09001では品質は次のように定義されている。
あるものに存在している固有の特性の集まりが要求を満たしている程度
最小限の完成品在庫を持ち引き取られた分だけ造り補充する（造りすぎのムダを抑える）
商品品質は、製品またはサービスの内容と顧客の要求との合致度、言い換えると顧客満足度で表される
Most of the customer requirement quality is potential, some customers don't know even what their requirement quality is enough.
There are difficulties, for example, like that the quality is relatively determined by comparing among competitive commodities when there are competitors.
Quality is defined in ISO9001 as follow:

Quality of goods shows the level of which meets the contents of the product or the service with the requirement of customer, that is, the level of customer satisfaction.
