日本では1960年代に始まった本格的なパブリックアートの文化は今日に至るまで続いており、数え切れない程の作品が街中に置かれるようになりました。今日では、おそらく日本全国に数十万点以上の作品が存在するでしょう。
しかし、それらの多くは芸術的価値に関わらず、街を歩く人々に殆ど見向きもされず素通りされている状態です。
今回は、そのように存在意義がいまいち不明瞭である、パブリックアートというものを取り上げてみました。


下記の５エリアに点在する彫刻を合計１００点紹介します。

In Japan, the real public art culture has existed since 1960's. A tons of works of art have been displayed on the streets. Probably there are more than a few hundred thousand of works of art nationwide in Japan nowadays.
However, most of them, regardless of the artistic value, are ignored and people pass by them.
This time, we featured public art whose meaning of the existence is vague.

We'd like to introduce 100 sculptures scattered on the five areas below.
