日本では1960年代に始まった本格的なパブリックアートの文化は今日に至るまで続いており、数え切れない程の作品が街中に置かれるようになりました。今日では、おそらく日本全国に数十万点以上の作品が存在するでしょう。
しかし、それらの多くは芸術的価値に関わらず、街を歩く人々に殆ど見向きもされず素通りされている状態です。
今回は、そのように存在意義がいまいち不明瞭である、パブリックアートというものを取り上げてみました。


下記の５エリアに点在する彫刻を合計１００点紹介します。

Full-fledged public art culture, which started in the 1960's in Japan, still remains to this day. And countless works are placed on street.
Today, it seems that more than hundreds of thousand of works exist all over Japan.
But in spite of its artistic value, most of people pass through them without giving any glance at them.
This time, we introduce you so-called public art, whose raison d'etre is not obvious.

We introduce you up to 100 sculptures scattering around the following 5 area.
