不良品を出さないために、機械のメンテナンスは重要である。しかし管理者はメンテナンスを嫌っている。これも根本には評価基準の問題がある。管理者は労働や機械の効率性で評価されるため、一時的に作業がストップしてしまうメンテナンスを嫌い、長期的に見て機械がストップしたり不良品が発生するほうが全体として損失が大きいことを十分に理解できていない。評価基準について管理者と話し合い、短期的な効率性よりも長期的な視野で評価することを伝え、メンテナンスの重要性を啓蒙することを提案する。

A maintenance of a machine is important for not producing defective products. But supervisors avoid it. There is a fundamental issue of a performance evaluation criterion. The supervisors are evaluated by productivity of the work and machines, therefor they avoid the maintenance which stops an operation temporary. They can't fully understand that stops/troubles of the machine or producing defective products will make (on the whole) a greater loss in the long run. I will suggest that managers should enlighten them about the importance of a machine maintenance through a conversation about a performance evaluation criterion with them and also informing them that an evaluation will conduct by long term results, not by short term productivity.
