私が最近海外のニュースで気になっているのは、イラクのニュースである。イラクでは、対テロという名目で政府がいろんな町に攻撃していて、何もしていない一般市民に甚大な被害を与えている。例えば、イラクのファルージャという町では、人体に有害な物質を含む爆弾などが使われた影響で、最近は普通よりも明らかに多い数の異形児が生まれている。私の友人がイラクやヨルダンで実際にこの問題の解決にあたっており、彼女からイラクの現状を聞くと胸が痛くなる。世界中の出来事に常に関心を持ち続けていたい。

The international news topic that concerns me most is Iraq. In that country, the government attacks various towns in the name of anti-terrorism, causing enormous damages on innocent civilians. For instance, in a town called Fallujah, a number of deformed babies have been born due to the use of explosives containing harmful substances. My friend have been working to solve this problem in Iraq and Jordan, and my chest hurts when she tells me the current situation in Iraq. I hope to keep myself interested in the world current affairs.
