Oddly enough I have a very good idea of the background of the exhaust stack.During World War II the US government captured Japanese Zero aircraft for evaluation and testing.This stack was on a -52 Zero that was being tested in Pensacola as I recall.It was crashed during landing when the pilot forgot the throttle on the Zero was backwards. ie. shutdown was full forward.The Zero lost its landing gear and was hacked to pieces and badly damaged,then thrown on the scrap pile.It was recovered by the Atlanta Museum and was displayed for years.The Museum closed it the late 90s and I was told to sell the stack by the current owner

不思議なことに、この排気筒にまつわる話をよく記憶してる。
第二次世界大戦中、米政府は日本の零戦を性能評価のために手に入れた。この排気筒は、私の思い出す限り、ペンサコーラで試験中だった52型零戦のものだった。この機体は、パイロットが零戦のスロットルレバーが逆に作動する（前方に完全に押すと閉じる）ことを忘れていたために、着陸時に墜落した。機体は着陸ギアを失い、叩きつけられてばらばらになり、ひどく損傷し、スクラップになった。機体はアトランタ博物館が復元し数年にわたって展示された。同博物館は展示を90年代にやめ、私はこの排気筒を現在の所有者に売るよう申し入れられた。。
