In modern Japan, the (Hanafuda) Japanese playing cards means a competition wherein the number of picture cards which were matched with the Yomifuda(which will be described later) taken is being competed on. In addition, the tanka is written in the Yomifuda and the last part of the poem is written on the torifuda in the case of the Ogura Anthology of One Hundred Tanka‐poems by One Hundred Poets.
