こういう、システムとしての「お届け予定日」はなんというのだろう、と、このところずっと悩んでいたので、おかげではっきりしました。単純にdelivery date だったのですね。

交通状況、というと、渋滞や雪で交通遮断のようなことを考えるので、traffic を使いました。 transportationだと、車や電車などの交通「手段」をイメージしてしまうのですが、そちらを使うのですね？

「保管」も悩む言葉だったのですが、なんと、safekeepingですか！
この内容の文章は、英語のものを絶対何度か目にしているのですが、いざ自分で言いたいときには、「はて、何て言ってたかな？」とはっきり思い出せず、「あ～、あの時ちゃんと書き留めて覚えておけばよかった！」と、反省しきりです。

話が前後しますが「会計時」をpayment とおっしゃっていますが、私はpaymentというと「支払うとき」で、「会計時」というのは通販の場合、「これとこれを買って、送料がいくらで、だからあなたの買い物の総合計はいくらいくらですよ」と画面上で合計が表示されるときだと思うのです。で、それでよければ「確認」ボタンを押すか何かすると、初めて「支払い」了承になるのではないかと思うのです。とは言いながら、実は「check out」も、「支払い」のような気がするのですが。

あの、ちょっとお聞きしたいことがあるのですが、
Thank you in advance. って、普通に英語なんですか？ネイティブさんが聞いても何の違和感もないのでしょうか？私はかつて、これは「よろしくお願いします」を訳した苦肉の策で、普通の英語ではない、と聞いていたのですが、ここではこれをお書きになる方が多いので、どうしてもお聞きしておかなければならなくなりました。
初めは変な英語だったけれど、日本人がやたらにこれを使った結果、市民権を得た、ということなのでしょうか？

HI 14pon, I haven't had time to read your first message but we do use "Thanks in advance" among native speakers but it is only used in written requests and not in speech, and so it is correct English. I think it's a good way to translate よろしくお願いします if you are asking someone to do something for you, but よろしくお願いします is obviously used in many different situations so it can't always be translated this way.
